SEDDON SHIELD.

[to the editor.] Sir, —Allow me a small space to express my opinion of the West Coast representative Rugby team. After viewing both Seddon Shield games I am quite convinced I hat. the team could be altered to the betterment of all, by including Ogier, who lias proved himself the best loose forward on the Coast this season with any football brains, which is essential, especially in representative games, in place of Jones, who so far has been a failure as a loose forward, and also repeatededly getting in the half-back’s way; also when he gets the ball he fails lo know what to do with it, which was very noticeable in Saturday’s game. I see that Ogier has been replaced by Buchanan; one good move, one bad one. Now, Mr. Selectors, why not lift that blue and white veil from your eyes, and put in flayers worthy of their place. If Canterbury still hold the Ranfurly Shield, when Coast uphold their challenge, I, like many more would like to see Ogier in the team, as he is a good penetrating forward, and knows what to do with the leather when he gets it, and that is the sort of forward you want against Canterbury and in the remaining Seddon Shield matches, if we want to hold the Seddon Shield another season, and lift the Ranfurly Shield. Hoping Mr. Selectors you will give this every consideration before we lose the Shield. I am etc., EX WEST COAST REP.
