Alexander, Dargaville, early. SHIPPING NOTES. The Kiwitea sailed yesterday afternoon for Wellington. The Karepo sailed yesterday afternoon, for Sydney. The Rata arrived yesterday afternoon, from Westport. She is scheduled to sail this evening, with coal for Nelson. The Huia arrived yesterday afternoon, from Melbourne, with explosives. She sailed this afternoon for Dunedin. The Alexander leaves Wellington today, for Westport and Greymouth, to load coal for Dargaville. She is due about Thursday. The Kini arrived yesterday afternoon from Wellington and is scheduled to sail to-day, for Wellington and Miramar, via Westport. The Kanna is due to-morrow from New Plymouth to load for Wellington. The Kaimiro is due to-morrow from Auckland to load coal and timber for Auckland, via Westport and New Plymouth.
The Kartigi is due on Wednesday from Auckland to load timber and coal for Wellington, via Westport. The Totara is due on Thursday from Westport, to complete for Napier, via Gisborne. The Karetihi left Wellington at 3 p.m., to-day, with cargo, for Greymouth. OTHER PORTS. LONDON, August 13. Arrived at London, Port Victoria. Sailed: Oaksudsen, from Los Angeles; Port Alma from Glasgow. SYDNEY, August 14. Arrived: Monowai from Auckland. NEW PLYMOUTH, August 14. Sailed, 1.5 p.m., Kanna, for Greymouth. SYDNEY, August 14. Arrived, Marama from Auckland; Mariposa from Auckland; Brisbane Marti from Auckland. WESTPORT, August 14. Sailed at 9.35 a.m., Te Arolia, for Greymouth. N.Z. SHIPPING COY. LONDON, August 13. The New Zealand Shipping Company has placed an order with the firm of Workman Clark, of Belfast, for two-fifteen thousand tons refrigerated cargo steamers, which are stated to represent a million sterling.
