A match race with Tolan has been arranged for the Chicago Fair in the first week of October for one thousand dollars aside. SWIMMING AUCKLAND, August 11. Arrangements have been made by the Waitemata Swimming Club for Misses Bult and Dennis, the Australian champion swimmers, to visit the Dominion early in December. Miss Bult is regarded as the fastest free stylist of her sex in the British Empire, and is ranked as the third fastest in the world. Miss Dennis is the breaststroke champion of the world. She won 200 metres (ladies) Olympic, breaststroke championship at Los Angeles in 3 mins. 6 secs., a world’s record. She has won the 220 yards breaststroke championships of Australia and New South Wales for the past three years. The Waitemata Club is applying through the Auckland Club to New Zealand Council, for permission for the swimmers to make the visit. BOWLING. The annual reeling of the Westport Bowling Club was held in the Pavilion on Thursday night, there being a large attendance of members, over which Mr A. Morley, President of the Club, presided. The annual report and balance-sheet showing the club’s position to be very healthy, was adopted. Eleven new members were elected. The election of officers resulted: President: Mr A. Morley (re-elected); Vice-Presidents: Messrs F. Morgan, G. Head. L. Watt, and C. E. G. Samuels; delegate to Buller Bowling Centre: Mr F. Morgan: Secretary: Mr H. Ivey (reelected); Assistant. Secretary: Mr F. Morgan; Treasurer: Mr A. Stevens; Auditor: Mr J. Radford. Ground Committee: Messrs J. Green, A. Nottle and G. Head. Match Committee: Messrs F. Knight. L. Druery and P. A. Struthers. Social Committee: Messrs L. Watt, E. Lee, P. A. Struthers, E. Chapman and Hart.
