FEWER PRISONERS. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] RUGBY, August 11. Official figures published at Simla, show that the number of persons in prison for civil disobedience activities, at. the end of June, was 6915, representing a reduction of 75 per cent., compared with the total at the end of June, 1932. Ow’ing to the expiry of sentences, or because detention was no longer considered necessary, about half the political prisoners in the north-west frontier province have been released since the end of June.
