DIPHTHERIA SERUM. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] VANCOUVER, July 13. The Alabama State Health Officials announce the discovery of a diphtheria serum that will immunise a six-year-old baby for life. LOAN OF RADIUM. LONDON. July 14. * The Belgium Radium Company has offered the British research workers the loan of five grammes of radium, worth £75,000. This will be the largest single radium bomb ever used at Westminster Hosiptal. The Belgian loan may later be supplemented with another of five grammes. They would constitute a unit second only in size to a fifteen grammes bomb .that is shortly to be used in Brussels. The loan has been placed at the Radium Institute, where a special research committee has been formed to manage the bomb. WHOLESALE PRICES RISING. RUGBY, July 13. A June index of 85.1 is recorded for wholesale prices in Britain. This is the highest for any month since September, 1932, and it shows an increase of 2.44 per cent, over the previous month, and of 3.8 per cent, over June of last year.
