PARTS SCALE OF CHARGES.

Realising the value of the streets and monuments of Paris as settings for films, the Municipal Council has made a. practice, since 1925, of charging a. fee for the use of its readymade “scenery.” A definite scale of charges has now been drawn up. Forty-eight hours before filming a. scene in the public places of the city it will henceforth be necessary to make application in writing for permission to do so.

A charge of 30/- per day per operator will be made, with a supplementary tax of about 2/6 for every actor, actress, super, and other employee. Five shillings must, bo paid in resport of every animal appearing in flic scene, ami there is a special scale of charges for the cars and vans carrying tlm photographic apparatus. The sums charged are doubled after nightfa.il. Films in which no actors appear may still be made, however, in the streets and parks of Paris without payment.
