“BAD BOY OF HOUSE”
MR LEE’S DENIAL.

WELLINGTON, October 14. An allegation that the member for Grey Lynn (Mr Lee) had gone to New Plymouth and boasted that he was the bad boy of Parliament, was made in the House to-day, by the Government member for New Plymouth Smith). . As spon as the allegation was made, Mr Lee interjected: That is not true. The Speaker: I don’t think the Hon. member for New Plymouth should make that statement. Mr Smith: If the member for Grey Lynn says it is not so I will withdraw. The Speaker asked that Mr Lee should withdraw his remark. Mr Lee said that he would withdraw the remark. He said he had never boasted that he was the bad boy of Parliament.
“I have always had the greatest respect for the chair,” said Mr Lee. He said that the incident had occurred when he had declined to withdraw certain word's, but that did not imply he was showing disrespect for the chair.
