SUTCLIFFE’S TENTH CENTURY

Sutcliffe played an amazing innings of 194, out of 292, scored in 165 minutes, this being his tenth century of the season. Sutcliffe and Leyland scored 102 runs off six overs. Sutcliffe scored the last eighty-two in twenty minutes.

Newspapers regret that Robins’ decision deprives England of a bowler who might have played a great part in winning the Tests. x Results were: —

India second: 7/234 declared. (Naidu not out 130). Somerset, second, 179 (Naidu 4/39, Godambe 4/47). India won by 163 runs.

The Australians and the local “AH” Stars match to-day ended in a draw. The Australians lost 3 for 217 declared. The local team lost 7 for 60.
