WELLINGTON, August 12.

The display of notices to the effect that tea-cup reading is for fun ami merriment, and that no attempt is made to tell fortunes or the future is not sufficient’• to protect a tea-room from acts that are subsequently performed by tea-cup readers, according to a decision by Mr Pag 3 , S.M. He fined the- proprietor of the Lyric Tea-rooms, Andrews, £3, and convicted and discharged Kathleen Buchanan, calling herself “Madame Queen.” Another proprietor, Hanson, of the “Quick Stepin Tearooms,” was fined £3 on one charge, and ordered to pay costs on another. A female defendant, Alice Beale/ otherwise “Madame i Glyn,” was convicted and discharged.
