PICKED IN FATHER'S GARDEN.

Tliirza May Shone, aged three, met a tragic death at the home of her parents, at. Gladstone-avenue, Ryde, yesterday morning. She had wandered through her father’s vegetable patch and had plucked a handful of green peas. She began to eat the peas, pods and all. The pods were too tough for her delicate ‘mouth and

The child’s mouth was open, and her throat was blocked with the peas. Unable, to breathe, the .child began to go black in. the face. Her distracted fa ther picked her up and .ran with her to the surgery of Dr. Gordon Smith, of Ryde, but the child diedthree minutes after arrival.. .
The child’s,parents are in straitened; circumstances the-Yather having been out of employment for: three years. . '
