ABDUCTED AND KILLED
N.Z. WOMAN A VICTIM
SYDNEY PARK HORROR [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, July 27. The body of Miss Hilda White, aged 33, of Darlinghurst, was found in Centennial Park, close to the city to-day, with many marks of violence on the head and neck. A subsequent examination by a Government medical officer disclosed that the victim had been subjected to a brutal handling, and had possibly been outraged and finally, strangled with a portion of her own underclothing. Miss White was an Aucklander. She came to Australia four and a-half years ago, with her mother, sister and brother.
She attended a picture show last night, and was, apparently, forcibly carried off in a motor car to Centennial Park, where there were to be seen many evidences of her struggles before her death..
Every detective available is investigating the case. A young male acquaintance of the deceased is already being questioned.
