Mr and Mrs M. J. Fogarty, of Greymouth, announce the engagement of their eldest son, Dr Paul Joseph Fogarty, to Miss Eileen Mary Goodson, eldest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr M. J. Goodson, of “The Glen,” Kelburn, Wellington.

Thd marriage took place on Wed? nesday at St. Saviour’s Church, Sydenham,' of Miri Lillian Johnston, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Blackburn, and William, elder son of Mr. and-' Mrs. W. M’Laughlin, of Greymouth, and formerly of Sydenham. Th 6 officiating minister was the Rev. E. U. Powell. The bride, who was given away by Mr. L. A. Nankivell, wdre a white satin frock made with a close-fitting bodice and long sleeves falling to a point over the wrists. The skirt was made with a hip flare and fell in graceful folds to her ankles.* Her long tulle veil was gathered to the head by a circlet of orange blossoms and hand-made satin leaves, the train ending in-a wide band of white satin, on which were three horse shoes of orange blossoms. She , carried a sheaf of red roses, chrysanthemums and African marigolds. On entering the church the bride was presented with a lucky horse shoe by Miss Daphne Cox. The bridesmaid, Miss Joyce Noble, wore a dress of flame red georgette, the ankle length skirt having tiers of frills from the waistline to the hem. She also wore a coatee and red felt hat to tone, and carried a red tulle muff on which was a spray of pale pink roses. Mr. Allan Boot attended the bridegroom as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Later, when Mr. and Mrs. M’Laughlin left on their wedding tour, the bride was wearing -a red and brown knitted jumper and a brown skirt under a higger brown astrakhan coat, with a beret to match. Their future home "ivill be in Greymouth.
