TRAP SHOOTING RECORD.

AUCKLAND, April 10.
Competing in the North Island claybird championship at Mangere to-day, M. Pratt (Otorohanga) shot 130 succesisve birds, creating a New Zealand record. In the final eight competitors tied, and in the shoot-off between Pratt and J. Winiki (New Plymouth) Winiki failed at the 97tli bird, leaving Pratt the winner. They recommenced the shoot, Pratt carrying on to secure 130 birds straight out. The shooters had to pause at intervals to allow their guns to cool.
BILLIARDS.
NEW YORK, April 10
Newman (with his handicap of 3000). won his exhibition billiards ina-tch with Lindrum on Saturday night. Newman’s score was 9,849, and Lindrum’s 9,786. • Lindrum had a run of 1409,' the fourth highest break on record. MOTOR SPEED RECORD. LONDON, April 11. As two cars are being built in America, in the hope of recovering the record from Sir M. Campbell, the latter has decided to equip the Bluebird with a Rolls Royce—Schneider trophy engine, with a view to defending the title LONDON, April 11. At the British Olympic Association uinner, Sir Harold Bowden appealed fbr £20,000 to send 120 British competitors to Los Angeles, which he desci ibed as an event of International and Imperial importance, providing the opportunity for Britain to convince the world of her vitality. BOWLING Mr. W. Graham, formerly of Greymouth, and now of Hastings, won, yesterday, the final match in the East Coast Champion of Champions singles contest at Hastings.
