An armed man entered the manager’s office at a brick and tile works in the suburb of Stanmore, forced Arthur Shannon, the proprietor, to sign a cheque for £950, and then decamped. Shannon gave the alarm, and three policemen, after a terrific fight, overpowered and arrested the alleged culprit, Charles Rich, against whom several charges will be preferred.
