French Banks, it is reported, have agreed to participate in a ten millions sterling loan for South Africa to maintain the gold standard. OR FROM HOLLAND? CAPE TOWN, November 9. The exchange position is acute. The reserve bank’s balance in London is approaching exhaustion. The Government is endeavouring to establish an exchange pool in London, by a five millions loan to be raised at Amsterdam.
