BRITISH BROADCASTING CO. LONDON, November 7. The British Broadcasting Company in reply to an inquiry as to how far they have succeeded in overcoming fading and atmospherics, stated that' they will utilise probably five different short-length bands at different periods of the day, in the hope of reaching New Zealand and Australia at a relayable strength. In this connection, it may be mentioned that the experiments with the low waves have not solved the fading with the Australian beam wireless, which at present cannot be operated for long stretches at night. The British Broadcasting Company will not be ready for the next transmission to Australia for at least one year. The British Broadcasting Corporation have decided immediately to carry out plans for the erection of an Empire Broadcasting Station, which was discussed at last Imperial Conference. Though the finance problem has hitherto held up progress, the corporation have decided to proceed with the project owing to strong requests from the Empire.
