A 20-year-old Oxford student, PittsBrown, a New Zealander, was sent to the hospital at Oxford,' with a fractured wrist and concussionfi as the result of a motor-cycle collision with two brothers, who sustained broken legs. HITLER’S PROMISE. BERLIN, October 31. As a sequel to his audience with President Hindenberg, Herr Hitler visited General Von Schleicher, the Minister of Defence, who persuaded him to modify his views. Herr Hitler promised not to try to establish a Fascist Militia, nor to interfere with army matters. SAMOAN GOVERNORS. APIA, October 31. The Governor of American Samoa, Mr Lincoln, his wife and a party of seventeen, arrived here by the U.S.S. Ontario, last evening, paying a three days’ return visit to the Administrator who, in August last, officially visited Pago Pago. The Lincolns are the guests of the Administrator at Vailima, where a dance in their honour will be held to-night. The party are also attending the Apia Turf Club meeting today. . A WEIRD STRIKE. CRACOW, October 30. The world's most weird University riots have begun here owing to the Jewish students at the University offering objections to the fact of their being too many Christian corpses for dissection in the anatomy classes. The Jewish students demand a proportionate dissection of Jewish corpses. The Jewish students have been for two days rioting, which led to the closing of the University.

Delivering a scathing denunciation of Capone and his cohorts, United States District Judge Wilkerson, sentenced Phil Dandrea, Capone’s bodyguard, to six months’ gaol for contempt of court, by carrying a revolver at Capone’s trial on October 10. That there is a secret agreement against Japan is widely reported, and this is coupled with the antagonistic attitude of the British, and the Council of the League of Nations, but is discredited in Government circles. The Japanese Consulates are closing their residences and. evacuating many places in China in consequence of increasing anti-Japanese persecution.
