GOOD WISHES ACKNOWLEDGED At the annual meeting of the Greymouth Chamber of Commerce (held recently, it was decided to forward congratulations to the leaders of the United and Reform Parties, upon their action in forming the Coalition Government. Acknowledgments of the good wishes extended have now been received by the President of the Chamber (Mr. P. J. McLean). The Prime Minister (Mr. G. W. Forbes) has written as follows: —“I desire to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 13th instant and shall be glad if you will be good enough to convey to the members of the Greymouth Chamber of Commerce my sincere thanks for the kind sentiments expressed concerning the formation of a Coalition Government to administer the affairs of the Dominion during the present troublous times. I feel sure that the action which has been taken in this respect will be largely instrumental in facilitating a return to economic stability and an early recovery from the present financial stringency. It is indeed gratifying to me to know, in the discharge of my heavy and important responsibilities, that 1 have the support and goodwill of the members of vour Chamber.” The following letter has been torwarded by Mr. J. G. Coates:—“l am indebted to you for your letter ot October 13 and for the very kind expression of good wishes conveyed to me therein from the annual meeting of tne Greymouth Chamber of Commerce in connection with the recent formation of the Emergency Coalition Cabinet. I shall be glad if you will give to> those, concerned my sincere thanks message. We have undertaken a heavy task, but we are hopeful of results that will be of benefit to the people and the country/’
