COBDEN PETITIONS
FOR INCLUSION IN COUNTY. Petitions lodged by several farmerratepayers, for exclusion from the Cobden Town District, and inclusion in the Grey County, are to be considered by a Commission consisting of Messrs T. Cagney (Commissioner of Crown Lands for Westland) iand M. Carmichael (District Land Valuer, Nelson). Tins' Commission met at the Greymouth Courthouse, to-day. Mr F. A. Kitchingham is representing Messrs J. Steer and E. Keeney: Mr T. F. Brosnan is appearing for Messrs M. Minehan, J. Wisbey, and others, and is also watching proceedings on behalf of .the Grey County Council; and Mr W. P. McCarthy is representing the Cobden Town Board. When the proceedings were opened this morning, it was decided that the Commission should inspect the areas concerned, and the hearing was accordingly adjourned until to-inorrow.
