BIRTH AND DEATH
DOCTOR’S DRAMATIC ROLES
NEW YORK, October 14. Nineteen years ago Dr. George Crump officiated at the birth of an infant, which later was christened Arthur Edward Canning. Last night Dr. Crump arrived home, and was confronted by three burglars. He had been robbed before, and carried a revolver. Immediately he opened fire, and the robbers replied with a shot which broke the doctor’s arm. Two of the bandits fled, leaving the body of the third. The doctor examined the lad’s face, and found that it was Arthur Canning, who had been killed outright.
