REEFTON, October 28Mr and Mrs Cecil Carter, of Frankton Junction, are on a visit to Mrs Robinson, Buller Road, Mrs Carter s mother. Mrs J. F. Downey, of Waihi, who has been on a visit to Reefton, left for the North Island yesterday. Mr J. O’Regan has been returned unopposed as the settlers’ representative on the Nelson Land Board. , Miss Al. Riley, Maruia, was a visitor to Reofton for the Labour Day weekend. Miss K. Boyes, of Christchurch, was a visitor to her relative, Mrs McClymont, Black’s Point, and returned home yesterday. Mr D. Absalom, of Hukarere, was a visitor to Reefton for the week-end, and reports that work on the crushing plant, on which he and his partner, Air Fred Harrison, have been engaged, is nearing completion, and that crushing operations will be started within the next week or two. The stone at grass and in the mine is of good quality, and good returns are expected. Odd cases of influenza are occurring at Reefton, and at Tiroroa, in the Buller Gorge, the complaint is fairly prevalent.
