Mr A. D. Wallace was a passenger by to-day’s express to Lyttelton.

Mr S. McDowell left to-day, on a visit to Wellington.

Mr A. Dawson left to-day on a visit to Wellington.

Miss L. Bishop was a passenger by to-day’s express to Christchurch.

Mr C. Ingram left to-day on a holiday visit to Christchurch.

Mr H. T. H. Graves left to-day on return to Christchurch.

Mr J. Crawford was a passenger by to-day’s express to Christchurch.

Mr C. Williams, of the Railway Department, returned to-day to Adding- ' ton.

Miss Clare Murtha was a passenger by to-day’s express for Christchurch.

Mr E. S. Brittenden, Acting Traffic Manager, Railways Department, returned to-day to Christchurch.

Mr H. Vickerman, Consulting Engineer to the Grey Electric Power Board, left on return to-day to Wellington.

The funeral of the late Mrs Seddon took place at Wellington yesterday. The flag was at half-mast on the Greymouth Post Office.

Mr Charles Mitchell has been elected Chairman of Dorman Long, Ltd. (engineers), in succession to the late Sir Hugh Bell.

Messrs T. E. Coates, Greymouth, and D. J. Evans, Hokitika, left today for Wellington, to attend the annual meeting of the New Zealand Racing Conference.

Mr C. W. Beattie, of Christchurch, has been appointed by the New Zealand Rugby Union to referee the Seddon Shield matob ( , Buller v; Marlborough, to be played at Westport on July 18.

A London cablegram stated that Dr. Murray Brennan, formerly Professor at Otago University, has been appointed to the Chair of Pathology at Edinburgh University, -where he graduated.
