The absence of a reply from the [Australian Cricket Board, re a guarantee against the adverse exchange rates, is accepted to mean that Australia is not prepared to meet the demands. South African cricketers are considering the alternative of inviting an Australian team to visit there. The Secretary of the Transvaal Board points out that twelve days of M.C.C. cricket resulted in receipts totalling £12,000. He said: “If Australia, sends Bradman and a few others, we will pack the grounds. The visit is sure to be a success.”
