[BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SUGAR INDUSTRY. MELBOURNE, August 23. The Committee of Inquiry into the sugar industry consists of eight members, with Mr J. Gunn, Commonwealth Director of Development, as Chairman. Every phase of the sugar industry will be represented thereon. Thejnquiry will cover the costs, profits, manufacturing conditions, the necessity for continuance of the present prohibition of importation of sugar, effect of the present sugar prices in manufacturing industries and fruit processes, values of land used for sugar growing, alien penetration into the sugar industry, and other aspects of the business.
