The Lambeth Conference has closed. An encyclical letter will be issued embodying the conclusion. The Archbishop of York, at the final session voiced gratitude to the Archbishop of Canterbury for presiding for five weeks. It was intimated that three hundred Bishops present desired to present a pastoral staff for use of the Archbishop in the diocese of Canterbury. . The “Morning Post’s” special representative says: Although efforts were made by a minority of Bishops to secure a pronouncement on the subject of birth control, it is u- 1 --’-'’? :i:.:t more than passing reference will appear in the encyclical to the effect that the extent of the practice among church is practically so small as not to call for notice.
