MONTREAL, July 23
Primo Camera, the Italian boxer who was scheduled to fight here tonight, has been.ordered by the United States Customs to proceed immediately to Ellis Island, New York, for deportation. It is therefore presumed that he will not meet the Australian, Cook.
TOM HEENEY’S OPPONENT.
NEW YORK, July 24.
Tom Heeney’s bout against “Tuffy” Griffiths on Tuesday next is the biggest attempt by the New Zealander to stage a “come-back.” Griffiths boxes fast and hits like a hammer.
VAN TO MEET PALMER?
The Northern Boxing Association is endeavouring to secure the services of Frank Van, who has had considerable success in Australia, for n match against “Tiger” Palmer, who beat Cleverley in convincing style at Greymouth last week. Palmer is eager for the match, and the association’s secretary, Mr J. Watts, is at present awaiting a reply from Van. If the negotiations are successful, the pair will meet in the Auckland Town Hall on August 11.
