NAVAL TREATY

NEW YORK, July 22.
Referring to the ratification of the Naval Treaty, President Hoover stated that its ratification by' the signatory Powers will “renew again the faith of the world in the moral forces of goodwill,” and will dismiss any notion that the United States entertains., ideas of , aggression, imperial power, or exploitation of foreign nations.
Mr Adams said that the Navy would immediately undertake an exhaustive study of designs, .and would formulate its building programme in the light of the Naval Treaty. He states that work will continue on the ten thousand ton cruisers' now projected, but it is expected that nothing will be done towards the construction of other types of ships until the programme is z prepared.
