Federation on the subject of advertising wool. They w’ere introduced by Mr. B. Tripp, w’lio said that, judging from what he had seen, at Bradford, the British manufacturers could produce the goods. What was wanted to push them. Colonel R. AV. Andrews said that the world was passing through a. period of lack of confidence, which had depressed the values of all raw materials. Yet vhc- wool stocks to-day were not. excessive. ’ If anything, they were below normal. Si)' Frederick Aykroyd, in introducing the subject of the character of New’ Zealand wool, said that the methods of crossing these had resulted in the production of irregular staples and fibres in the same fleece. The value of fleeces was based on the coarsest fibre, so that the growers were not. now receiving a. proper return for the fleece. While they used to buy New Zealand wool for single yarn in the trade, they new had to go to South America, wnich had imported Lincolns extensively. Dr. S. G. Barker, of the Wool Industry Research Association, said that the wholesale manufacturers now’ had a marking fluid to replace tar and j aint.
