WOMAN IMPRISONED
DANGER TO COMMUNITY.
[pee peess association.] CHRISTCHURCH, June 17. Magistrate Mosley, to-day, sentenced Miriam 1 Ada Goodrich, 29, domestic servant, to a year’s reformative treatment on a charge of attempting to extract £250 from her former employer, a man aged 87 years, by means of a threatening letter. The police said the woman alleged she had been indecently assaulted and demanded money. The man immediately informed the police, and the woman was trapped. The Magistrate said the woman was an absolute danger to the community.
