REEFTON NOTES

[OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, June 16. During Saturday morning’s journey, drivers of the early cars reported an exceptionally severe frost in the Inangahua and Buller Valley. Ice was continually forming on the windscreens, until they had eventually to be let down. The passengers suffered severely from the keen wind. Another severe frost was- experienced yesterday, but a thaw set in later in the day and to-clay the weather is much colder. Rev. T. W. Parsons, of Reefton, left on Saturday to conduct 10 days mission at Greymouth. Rev. G. E. Brown, of Greymouth, is taking Mr Parsons’ place at Reef ton with the same object.

REEFTON 12. IKAMATUA 5.

Reefton defeated Ikamatua seniors at Reefton after a hard and fast game. Play was confined mostly to the forwards. G. Ell, the new Ikamatua forward, played an outstanding game. Scorers for Reefton were W. Hunt, two tries, and Hindmarsh and Sara one- each. For Ikamatua G. Ell scored a try, J. Brennan converting. The points were 12 to 5 in Reefton’s favour. Mr Cutbush was referee. During the game two * Ikamatua players were injured, Richardson and Nelson, the former having a broken nose and injuries to his arm, Nelson receiving head injuries which necessitated a doctor’s attention. There were no junior games. Landing failed to travel to Reefton to play against Waratahs, and Rivals did not travel to Ikamatua to play the latter team. CRONADUN 8. LANDING 3. Cronadun defeated Inangahua Landing by 8 points to 3.
