BUTTER CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON N„ June 16. High praise is accorded to the butter exhibits in connection with the National Dairy Show, opening to-mor-row by the judges of the dairy division. The entries are of greater numbers than has been the case for quite a number of years, and the butter, say the judges, which has been in cold storage some four months, e opened up in choice condition. In a number of classes,- two or more exhibits had to the joined for first place. The judges had a difficult task in making their awards; Factory managers, butter makers; and suppliers are to be congratulated on the high quality of their (produce. Awards are as follow: — Bix butte!’, salted, suitable for export:—Rangitekei and United 96pts. equal, 1; Wangaehu 951 pts. 2; Awhuri 941 pts. 3. Thirty-seven entries. Box butter, pats, suitable for local ’ trade:—United 951 pts. 1; Tairua 95 pts., 2; Inter-Wanganui 941 pts., 3. Thirty-six entries. Box butter, suitable for export:— United 951 pts., 1; Konini 95 pts., 2; Levin 941 pts., 3. Thirty-four entries. Box of export butter, open to mem- * hers of the Factory Managers’ Association: —Levin and Rong'otea, 96 pts., equal, 1; Mauriceville 95i pts., 2; Apiti 941 pts., 3. Twenty-three entries. Box of butter for export, taken in parcels prior to the Government grading examination at any cool store: — United 95 pts,, 1; Rangiwahia 941 pts. 2; Hinuera 94pts. 3. Sixteen entries.
