BMr G. Topp, of the Runanga RailBays staff, has received notice of his transfer to Christchurch. Brigadier C. Walls, M.C., /National Young People’s Secretary to the Salvation Army, is visiting Greymouth. Mr W. Richmond, of the staff of the Public Trust Office, Christchurch, has been transferred to Greymouth. The death is announced from London of Lord Glendyne, a financier and stockbroker, aged 81 years.

A. Sydney cablegram stated that the Premier, Mr. Bavin, is making an excellent recovery after his recent operation.

Nelson Wright, Vicar of All Saints’ Church, Hokitika, will shortly be moving to Canterbury, and that ho will bo succeeded by the Rev. Mr Knight, of Amberley. With reference to the report that a call had been addressed to him by fhe congregation of the Greymouth Presbyterian Church, Rev. J. W. McKenzie . announced at yesterday evening’s service at Port Chalmers, that his only notification about the Greymouth church‘had been a paragraph published. He had received no call. Moreover, he was not disposed to accept it, should it reach him.—Press Assn.
