After the war, in motor-boat racing he attained the record speed of 60 miles per hour, and later reached a speed of 203.79 miles per hour at Daytona Beach, Florida, in an all British car. On March 11, 1929, he accomplished the record rate of 231.362 miles per hour at the same place. He was knighted on his. return to England. He also made a record in “Miss England,” a motor-boat, at Miami.
