PARTIES’ FINAL MEETINGS

AUCKLAND, May 7. Glorious weather prevails for the Parnell by-election. Great interest is taken, and a large poll is expected. There are 14,019 votes on the roll. Besides the ex-member, Mr Jenkins, six Members of Parliament spoke last night in support of the Reform'candidate (Mr Endeau). Three Cabinet Ministers (Messrs Forbes, J. B. Donald and Ransom) were on the United candidate’s (W. A. Donald) platform, Mr Ransom, however, being the onlj r one of the three to speak. At the Labourite’s (Mr Bloodworth) final meeting, Mr H. E. Holland, Party leader, and D. E. Sullivan, M.P. for Avon, gave addresses.
