SCULLING. By Cable—Press Assn.—Copyright-) LONDON, December 4. The champion sculler, Bert Barry, races Alf Burns for the world’s title, on the Thames, next June. Barry is already in training, and has won several half-mile to four and a-half mile handicaps, in which he has conceded considerable starts. BRITISH OLYMPIC COUNCIL. LONDON, December 5. The British Olympic Council debated the broken time problem, and unanimously decided that no competitor who received any payment or compensation for loss of salary, directly or indirectly, or in any guise whatever, shall be permitted to partake in future Olympic Games. BOXING. ./ HAWERA, December 4. Resulting from advice that Jones would have difficulty in making the reduced weight necessary for a contest with Sarron, the Hawera Boxing Association has agreed to the cancellation of the bout set down for December 10. BOWLING. Weather permitting, the Greymouth and Hokitika Bowling Clubs will play a four-rinks match to-morrow, at Greymouth, for the Reynolds Badges, at present held by Greymouth.

All players to be at Park at 1 p.m. The following members have .been selected to represent the Southern Cricket Sub-Union against a representative team from Greymouth, at the Mental Hospital grounds on Sunday, at 11 a.m.: —E.
