A CASE ABANDONED. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November B‘. In the case in which Mary Le Seuer claimed £l5l damages from Leo Chung, on account of injuries received when knocked down by his car, the plaintiff abandoned her case today, and judgment was given for the defendant without costs. The Chief Justice said he thought the course taken was wise, as he had grave doubts whether the non suit applied for arid .refused should not be granted, but he preferred to leave it to the jury.

WALL COLLAPSE. In an action brought by A. .W. Ives against William Peters, builder, for £Bl2 damages sustained by the collapse of a wall built by the defendant, the jury awarded £425 with £6O costs, plus the expenses of witness. ■ , ’ WIDOW SUCCEEDS. His Honor remarked that there was no need to reserve theii’ decision, the case being one of plain facts. He said the deceased was killed within a few feet of where he was working, and it was reasonable to infer, that he went between the trucks for some legitimate purpose, and as the trucks were not at t|ie time coupled to the engine, he went there without incurring an added risk.
