HOKITIKA NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent). HOKITIKA, November 9. Mr. H. M. Coulson, President of the Excelsior Football .Club, entertained the members of the Club and Rugby Union at his residence on Thursday evening, A pleasant time was spent in song, recitation, story and toast. St. Paul’s Amateur Dramatic Club drew a large audience at the Princess Theatre on Thursday night when four playettes were presented. The performance was creditable and much enjoyed. At the monthly meeting of the Westland Acclimatisation Society on Thursday night'reference was made to the death of Mr. Wm. Peck, who had been an active member of the Society fpi’ some years. A motion recording Mi. Peck’s services and sympathy with his wife and family was passed, those present standing. A letter was received from the Department of Internal Affairs noting that two men had worked 1000 opossum traps in Westland. It was agreed to ask that the regulations be tightened. <
