GREY WATERSIDE

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Just a suggestion which may be of use during exceptionally busy times on the Greymouth wharf, "\yhen a call for labour has been made on the wharf and Insufficient union labour is offering after a lapse of a stipulated time, say an hour, non-union men could be engaged for that day only. If on the following morning more union men were available, they could replace the non-union labour. I saw a similar arrangement working quite well on the Auckland waterfront. Yours, etc., INTERESTED.
