SUBMARINE DISTURBANCE
DEAD FISH IN STRAIT

WELLINGTON, October 25. When the Tamahine was about halfway across Cook Strait on her way to Picton yesterday, she passed through a huge shoal of dead fish, drifting across. her bows in thousands at a time. They apparently were blue cod There may have been some submarine disturbance, but the Government Seismologist is unable to throw any light on the subject. After the Murchison earthquake shoals of dead fish were encountered in the Tasman Sea.
