At a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Reefton before Mr Meldrum, S.M., Ralph St. John Hindmarsh (Mr Patterson) as licensee of the Miner’s Hotel, Reefton, was charged with permitting an unlicensed person to be in effect the keepei - thereof. —Convicted without penalty. • For being found'on the premises of the Miner’s Hotel after hours two defendants were convicted and ordered to pay costs 10/. One for giving a false name was fined 10/, with costs 10/. Inangaliua Hospital Board v. A. J. Agnew. —Judgment for plaintiff by default for £lO/5/6, costs £2/16/. The King (Mr Kitchingliam) v. Inangaliua County Council (Mi- Phillips). —Judgment' for plaintiff for £9/11/1, costs £3/18/6. Inangahua Hospital Board v. Louis Moore. —Judgment for plaintiff by default for £B/8/, costs £1 13/6. Estate E. M. McQuillan (deceased) v. M. O’Driscoll, tenement case.—Order made for possession on or before October 31, witJi costs. Ham Sing v. Edward Ernest Thompson, judgment summons. —Order made for payment of £3O/14/6 forthwith, in default 28 days’ imprisonment in Greymouth prison. Warrant not to issue on payment of £7/10/ per month, first payment on or before October 31. Stanley Austin v. John Moynihan, judgment summons.—Order- made for payment of. £B/8/6 forthwith, in default fourteen days’ imprisonment in Greymouth prison. WARDEN’S COURT. At a sitting of the Warden’s Court on October 24, before Mr W. Meldrum, Warden, the following applications were dealt with : —Cyril James Smith for a coal prospecting license over 120 acres at Capleston. Daniel McLaughlin for a coal lease over 20 acres in Block XV, Reefton S.D.—Adjourned to November 7. Nicholas Lawn, for an ordinary prospecting license over 20 acres near Quigley’s Creek. —Granted subject to certain conditions designed for the protection of the forest.
