ODDFELLOWS’ CONFERENCE.

NELSON, March 23. At the Dominion Conference of the Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Oddfellows, various remits were considered. One to raise the numerical basis of representation in the Grand Lodge was defeated. Remits were adopted relating to the admission of junior members of between 16 and 19 years into adult lodges at deduced rates with, relative benefits; a provision for biennial estimates; the setting up of various committees in subordinate lodges; and the rearrangement of constitution and index, and in connection with a number of minor matters. A report on the question of the general book■keeping and the registration of members was referred to the Executive, together with Bros. D. R. Cooper, P.G.M., and G. F. Rudkin, P.G.P.C.P., with power to bring in any necessary revision During a recess, Bro. M. Hooper, D.D.G. Secretary for New Zealand, advised members of the progress made for the formation of a grand encampment for New Zealand, a petition for charter for which is being sent immediately to the Grand Lodge of Australasia. Increased sick allowances and immediate funeral benefits for Rebekah members were adopted.
