STOLEN DIAMONDS

(Recd. October 15, 9.30 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, October 13. The Government seized large quantities of diamonds, smuggled from the Namaqualand State diggings, followed by five arrests. It is reported that the diamonds were obtained from the natives, and the estimated value is £70,000. Numbers of illicit diamonds reached Europe, arid a trade crisis, is feared.
