GREY RIFLE CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Grey Defence Rifle Club was held last evening. Present: Messrs C. Richardson (president), W. Garth, F. Stent, F. Garth. J. Bell, IL Higgins, T. Garth. E. Richardson, C. Murphy and M. Garth. In presenting the sixteenth annual report, it was gratifying to state that thte finances of the club were still showing an improvement on previous years. "This year expenditure may be somewhat heavier, owing to the necessity for repairs to mound and buildings on the range. During the year all" the various matches were got off, and the usual keen competition' was shown. Most of the youlig shots shaped well, and will make the veterans sit up in the coming season. The championship was won by Rifleman C. Richardson, and the handicap championship by Rifleman 'W. Garth. The junior championship was won by Rifleman T. Garth, who also won the coveted Bromley Bell. Rifleman W. Garth had an easy win when he annexed the patron's trophy. Various trophies were won by others (lining the season. The thanks of the Club were due to those who provided funds and trophies, to Air Perotti for use of the range, to Mr W. Garth for the use of his room for meetings, and to the secretary, Mr Al. Garth. It was hoped the. coming season would be one of pleasure and good marksmanship. Richardson. Marker: F. Garth (re-elected). Mr Stent moved that the outstanding £5 debenture be redeemed. —Seconded by Mr C. Richardson and carried. A donation of £2 2/ was voted to Air Perotti for the use of tlhe range. It was decided that a match between the President’s and Vice-Presi-dent’s teams be held to open the season, on Sunday, October 14, and that in the’ meantime a working bee go out .and get the range and butts in order.
The President announced that he would give a trophy for competition. It was resolved that the Club give the junior cup this the conditions to be the same as in past years. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES.
