REEFTON NOTES

REEFTON, October 2
During the recent spell of wet weather' the County Engineer took advantage of a plenteous water supply and had both reservoir dams thoroughly cleaned out and aerated so that for the Coming summer consumers are assured of clean water. Arrangements are now being made to increase the supply from the river during the summer months, and the electric pump which the Council decided 5 to instal for that purpose is on order. Mr. and Mrs. J. Lawn have returned to Reefton from Nelson. The former has entered the employ of Messrs Dick and Sons.
Miss Elsie Lockington of Wellington, arrived on a visit to her sister Mrs. P. Colvin by Saturday’s train. Mr. A. E. Loach, organiser of the Reform Party, passed through Reefton en route to Westport on Monday. The United Hockey Club, Greymouth have challenged the Reefton Ladies’ Hockey Club for the Brooks Cup, and the match will be played on the racecourse on Wednesday next.
