The report for September is as follows: — Bull Crosscut —This crosscut has been driven with two men and is now in 40 feet from surface. The country is solid and underlying very evenly to the eastward. We should be very close to the line of Bull reef at the end of next month.

No. 2 South Drive.—Two men have been employed here for a footage of 41 feet. Several small boulders of stone np to 6 inches in width have been passed through, but have all been embedded in country rock, leaving no track worth following.

No. 4 Level North —Only six feet 'have been driven here for the month, making the total 131 feet from crosscut. The small footage driven is due to the men usually employed here takingextended leave. The face shows no change, the country lying very flat. No. 2 Mullocky Crosscut—Crosscutting has been carried on for an extension of 16 feet, making the total to date 125 feet. The face has been hard and tight making progress slow, but now,..seems to have changed, for the better.

Aerial Line —Seventeen chains of bush have been felled on the route of the new aerial line. The total lengths to be felled being about 62 chains.

New Battery—The work this month was greatly hampered by the bad weather; however the sawmill 'was got in satisfactory going order and the heavy timbers for the ore bins ■were cut and put into position also a good deal of ordinary building timber was cut for the battery house. A hut was also erected on the battery site as there is a shortage of accommodation for the ‘workmen.
