FLOODS IN QUEBEC
TOWNS UNDER WATER.
(Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) <By Cable-Press Assn.—Copyright.)
(Recd. May 30, 9.45 a.m.) OTTAWA, May 29.
A message from Chicoutimi (Quebec) states that a big dam after holding back a million logs for ten days against heavy pressure from flood waters from Lake Saint John, gave way on Tuesday. Lumber worth a million and a-half dollars is sweeping down the Petit de Charge River. The flood situation at Robervale is extremely grave, and several Quebec towns are entirely under water and cut off from the outside world.
