OPERA HOUSE. The star attraction to be presented at the Opera House to-night will be the splendid production “The Police Patrol” starring James Kirkwood and Edna Murphy. The Paroa Sports’ Club held their annual dance in the Paroa Hall on Saturday last. A large crowd was present, the floor being crowded during every dance, patrons being present from Blackball, Moana, Stillwater, Runanga, Greymouth, Kumara, Hokitika, and all the surrounding districts. The hall was artistically decorated with coloured streamers, and bunting. The music was in the capable hands of Mr Fred Fletcher and a friend. A supper was served under the supervision of Mesdames Sumner, and Stratford, assisted by a willing band •of young girls. Mi’ B. Sumner, was Master of Ceremonie’s, and much credit is due to him, for the way in which he carried out his duties. Credit is also due to Mr S.
