GUINEA PIG MURDER
SYDNEY’S LATEST VANDAL.
There are extraordinary vandals in Sydney. Last week the stock of guinea pigs and rabbits kept at tile Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for expeiimental purposes was ruthlessly butcheied by some queer-minded individual. The loss is a heavy one to the hospital, and until a fresh stock is obtained research work has to cease The vandal made small holes in the wire netting of the pens, and through these introduced either small dogs oi ferrets. Not one animal was leit alive, the mangled bodies being strewn all over the ground. The happening involves hardship on the patients, too, as they will have to stay in hospital longer, since scientific observation and reports on many cases cannot now be made. In consequence of the raid the hospital is appealing to the public for supplies of guinea pigs or white Belgian rabbits, which are the type used for experimental purposes. ___
