Butter imports into the United Kingdom last month totalled 445,000 cwts., as compared with 450,000 cwts. for the corresponding period last year. LONDON, January 13. At a special meeting of the Molloy’s Creek Sawmill Company Ltd. held on December 20, 1927, the following resolution was passed:—That the Company be wound up voluntarily, and that James R. Leitch of Greymouth, accountant, be, and he is hereby appointed liquidator for the purpose of such winding up. STOCKS AND SHARES. AUCKLAND, January 14. Sales, on ’Change, Commercial Bank 29/3. Reported: Auckland Gas 23/5, Loan and Mercantile £92/10/-, pref. £B2/10/-. (Notes by “Insider.”) Since the Exchanges opened for the New Year, prices have hardened in a few instances, generally the market is firm,' sellers are not disposed to reduce prices. In the stocks and bonds section, prices are on a par with those ruling before the holidays. Bank of New Zealands are firm with sales at 59/3, 59/4, Union Banks have risen from buyers at £l4/7/6 to £l4/12/6 with sellers asking £l4/14/-. A dividend of 7/6 per share is payable next month. Bank of New South Wales have had sales locally at £46/2/6, and more could be placed at the same money. Commercial of Australia were sold at 29/5 (cum. rights). New Zealand Insurance have advanced to buyers 40/9, sellers asking 42/-. The balance sheet of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company will be issued to shareholders next week. It shows a profit to shareholders of £60,545.
