Si r —At the meeting called to decide the date of the Annual Trades Picnic, only three shop assistants from one firm attended. On enquiring the. reason from one of the employees, who has generally taken an active part, he stated: “We think we are getting too many holidays.”. It is pleasing to see some are studying then employers, as the majority of us are of the same opinion and think it shows that all holidays and othdr clauses m our different awards should be dealt with by employers and assistants instead of the Union'officials, who only represent a certain section of em ‘ ployees and know very little about the trades they represent. —I am etc., EMPLOYER.
